Viagra – Miracle Drug?

Are you suffering from erectile dysfunction? Do you hate how it disrupts your lifestyle and relationships? Are you interested in doing something about it?

Have you thought about Viagra?

Viagra is the original orally-administered erectile dysfunction medication. This treatment was accidentally discovered during clinical trials for a potential blood pressure medication. The medication was effective in how it affected the blood in the body, but not in the way the researchers originally thought. The men who made up the population the drug was being tested on reported a certain side effect – increased erections. In fact, they didn’t want to give back their unused medication at the end of the study. And with that accidental discovery, one of the most revolutionary drugs in the history of the world was created.

The active ingredient Viagra is based on is sildenafil citrate, created by two British scientists in 1989.

Investigation of its unexpected sexual health properties began in the nineties and in 1998, the Food and Drug Administration of the United States of America gave its seal of approval to Viagra. The public received Viagra with eagerness, and 40,000 prescriptions were written in the United States that year.

The same year, Viagra was approved for use in Australia. Viagra turned 20 last year, and it’s still going strong, with millions of prescriptions filled for millions of men all around the world.

In Australia, the cost of the drug is subsidized by the Australian Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme. While the government pays up to per packet, the cost to you is just .20 per packet. Each packet contains four tablets, enough for four separate sessions of usage.

Viagra comes in three doses – 25 milligrams, 50 milligrams, and 100 milligrams.

The price of .20 is consistent without consideration of your dosage, when purchased from a licensed pharmacy.

Some online pharmacies claim to sell Viagra, but we advise against that.

Firstly, all bodies and medical situations are different. To determine which dosage of Viagra will work best for you, consult with your physician. Your physician can use their personalized understanding of your medical history and their professional training to determine a course of action. An online pharmacy won’t have this professional expertise.

Your physician will also be able to write you a prescription for use at a pharmacy.

Buying medication online, without a prescription, is likely to be more expensive than obtaining the medication the traditional way. You will probably end up paying more should you skip the trip to the doctor’s.

As with many drugs, Viagra can have some side effects. Around one in ten patients will experience these side effects, which can include changes to vision, rash, and gastrointestinal distress, among other side effects. Do not take Viagra if you are taking nitrates or nitrite medications because it can lead to a severe drop in your blood pressure. Certain cardiovascular conditions also make taking Viagra a risky action. You should talk to your doctor to figure out the safest and most effective treatments for you.
